Image Matters: From the Inside Out

"An investment in self-improvement is an investment as important as any you may make in the market. What you put into it should give you a substantial return." James Gray, Jr., author of The Winning Image.

Image begins on the inside and works outward to the coverings - the clothes and style. As we all know, first impressions are based on the outer expressions of who we are. The style of our hair, our posture, our attitude all contribute to what others see. As you enter into the search for summer jobs or full time career opportunities, image will be a big part of your candidacy.

To help you gain a better understanding of appropriate professional attire and to teach you how to build and manage your wardrobe for the most value and impact, the Office of Career Services is bringing you Dress For Success. Dress For Success will be a presentation exhibiting the best clothes and accessories for the interview process and the workplace. It will include information about how to start with one outfit and build a multiple outfit wardrobe. Caring for the wardrobe and blending it outward into the social and recreational life of the student will also be considered. All of this intertwined with examples of some of the worst and some of the best options available.
