Proper Login for Outlook Web Access

Have you tried to login to Outlook Web Access (OWA) using just your username and password only to get an error message that your login has failed?

If so, get into the habit of ALWAYS typing davidson\username (along with your password) at the login screen. This method works consistently while using username alone often fails. Also, if you login using davidson\username, you can use the spell checker and you can follow web links included in your email messages.

Has File Transfer (FTP) also been a problem for you? In most cases these problems can be resolved with the proper login.

Without the proper login, you will have inconsistent results or loss of functionality. The authentication window will often indicate if domain\username or username is required. But you may want to just start logging in with the new approach, since all applications will accept davidson\username.
