Acrobat Professional 8

This fall ITS offered centrally funded Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 and Dreamweaver 8 installations for Davidson Faculty and Staff. The ITS Department would now like to announce the availability of Acrobat Professional 8 for utilization on college-owned Faculty and Staff computers. Acrobat 8 may be installed as an upgrade to Acrobat 7 or to a system that does not currently have Acrobat.

New features in Acrobat 8 Professional

• Combine multiple files into a PDF package
• Auto-recognize form fields (Windows® only)
• Manage shared reviews — without IT assistance — that allow review participants
to see one another's comments and track the status of the review
• Enable advanced features in Adobe Reader - participate in document reviews, fill
and save electronic forms offline, and digitally sign documents
• Permanently remove sensitive information - metadata, hidden layers, and other
concealed information
• Archive Microsoft Outlook e-mail in PDF (Windows only)
• Save in Microsoft Word - retaining the layout, fonts, formatting, and tables
