Need fast access? Use these quick finder keyboard shortcuts!

The Macintosh popularized the mouse as a user interface, but that doesn't change the fact that for lots of us the keyboard remains the fastest way to get around. With that in mind, here's a short list of keyboard commands you can use to jump around the Finder (desktop).

  • Command+Shift+C: Go to the top level of the computer
  • Command+Shift+H: Go to your Home folder
  • Command+Shift+A: Go to the Applications folder
  • Command+Shift+U: Go to the Utilities folder
  • Command+Shift+D: Go to the Desktop
  • Command+Shift+K: Go to the Network
And coming soon in Snow Leopard, one of my favorite interface tweaks: Command+Shift+O now opens your Documents folder.
