Tony was in many ways responsible for the revival of the Wildcat Pep Band in his junior and senior years at Davidson. I was the student director, and Tony played saxophone in what was pretty much a basketball arena Pep Band that played in Johnston Gym and the Charlotte Coliseum.
Several of Tony Snow's friends and admirers have sent this article to the college.

Howard Kurtz's appreciation of Tony Snow ["As Good as His Words," Style, July 14] hit the right notes in honoring Mr. Snow's public service and private life by remembering the "relentless cheerfulness" he displayed at all times and his well-deserved reputation among his colleagues for being a "really genuine guy."
After the nearly two-hour service attended by more than 1,000 people, a crying woman came up to Tony's youngest daughter, embraced her, kept sobbing and said nothing.
Tony was disarmingly talented and a delight. He was cheerful, energetic, bright, respectful, talented; words don't capture Tony fully, so here are a few experiences.

I have so many marvelous memories of studying together in EU Hall, working on cases, endless debates and arguments over every subject, fun together at the PIKA house, and many very successful forensics tournaments.
Fortunately for me, Tony was in my ECON 101 class with Charlie Ratliff.
One of my hall counselors, Peyton Marshall, was good friends with Tony.
